Hello new Families and Friends,
My name is Terri Fullerton. Currently, you will find me on the second floor at Queneesh Elementary, teaching my Grade 4 to 6 class. My students inspire me to learn and delight me with their enthusiasm. Children in my class are helpful and kind in ways that fill me up and send me home each day happy and satisfied that we have accomplished great things. I found my way into Montessori as though guided by the universe. Maria Montessori understood that each child has a place in the world and was able to see their strengths. I aspire to do the same for every student I teach. I know that children are just people who entered the world after me but who share the same vision of being loved, respected and kind. All children do their best and will excel when they feel that there is someone in their corner routing for them. In my classroom, children work hard, spending time completing inquiry projects, creating revised good copies of their work and supporting each other. I believe in the “Growth Mindset” and deliberately meet each student where they are at when they set foot in my class. With my own son, who began his education in a Montessori classroom, I have seen how nurturing a child’s confidence is key to their success and feelings of self-worth. Working with hands-on materials encourages children to capture an inquisitiveness that is all their own. I look forward to meeting your family if you decide our Montessori program is a good fit.
